The Walrus Talks Digital Skills
NEXT WEEK! Join us in Toronto or online for The Walrus Talks Digital Skills to explore how we can improve digital equity and build a digital future that leaves no one behind.

We asked Event Manager Simran Singh why she's looking forward to this special event.

The Walrus Talks Digital Skills is an opportunity to identify Canada’s digital divide. In the ever-evolving virtual world we live in, closing the digital skills gap is crucial for ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills they need to evolve. But even more pressing is the need for our young people in schools, low-income families, Indigenous communities, racialized communities, and our elders at home to gain the knowledge that is required to reach their highest potential. No matter your background, raising awareness about digital equity has never been more important. We have an incredible line-up of speakers to share their perspectives and solutions, and I hope you will join us to be a part of the conversation.”

WATCH: The Walrus Leadership Forum: Trust in Democracy

At The Walrus Leadership Forum: Trust in Democracy, Bruce MacLellan, The Honourable Catherine McKenna, The Honourable James Moore, Genevieve Tomney, and Zain Velji discussed key findings from the 2023 CanTrust Index. This year’s version of the CanTrust Index posed questions about which leaders and levels of government people across Canada find trustworthy, as well as which sectors, corporations, services, and institutions have strong (or weak) trust levels.

With voter turnout at historic lows, our panel shared their expertise to provide context and insight into how these perceptions can impact engagement and shape crucial decisions now and into the future.
